The GAJO was born in Lisbon in the spring of 2016 by João Morais in order to connect his music to the land that saw him being born, Portugal. About 30 years ago the musician left punk rock and now is accompanied by his Viola Campaniça, an instrument, which like the Portuguese guitar is part of the history of Portuguese music. Viola Campaniça or Viola Alentejana was the musical instrument played in the famous "cantares à desgarrada" (stray songs), in the parties and fairs of Alentejo. 2017 is the year of João Morais' first album, " Longe do Chão", and after many concerts in Portugal, in 2019 he starts his process of internationalization performing in two of the most emblematic European festivals: EUROSONIC (Holland) and REEPERBAHN (Germany). In 2019 he launches 4 Ep's: "Rossio", "Santa Apolónia", "Cais do Sodré" and "Alcântara-Terra" which together complete the collection "As 4 Estações d'O GAJO". On the 3rd of October he will be in Loulé at the Auditorium of the Solar Da Música Nova, each ticket is 5 euros per person. You can follow his work on facebook. ✓ T R A N S P A R E N C Y
