Godot's Cousins at the Louletano Movie Theater

Godot's cousins await the end of the world. They heard that he was coming. And that it could be at any moment. That it was only a matter of time. So they wait. And they wait without hope that something, or someone might suddenly appear to avoid it. And they just hope that at least it will be something spectacular, great, worthy of the great human tragedy. But that, too, is not certain. It may well be that the end of the world will never come. It may well happen that we will all end it first, after we have made it uninhabitable for all the existing and known forms of life. It may well happen that this end has nothing great. That it is just a slow asphyxiation, a progressive withering of all life. It may be that after the end only one planet populated by ghosts remains. Faced with this announced inevitability, Godot's cousins prefer to wait seated. For them it is as if time did not exist. Perhaps they have not yet realized that every second that passes is one second less of their remaining life. Eyes that do not see, heart that does not feel. What hurts them most is this waiting. They don't even move to go and try to see what's going on, or even try to avoid the announced end. Nothing. They wait.
